Are you an experienced Accounts Assistant looking for a varied finance role within a friendly and growing business? Hays Accountancy & Finance are recruiting for an all-round Accounts Assistant to join a Sheffield-based organisation on a temporary-to-permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys a broad transactional accounting position, working across purchase ledger, sales ledger, banking and month-end support within a supportive finance team.

Your new role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the finance function. Responsibilities will include:

• Processing high volumes of purchase ledger invoices
• Raising and processing sales invoices
• Credit control and customer account management
• Bank reconciliations and cash allocation
• Processing supplier payments
• Managing employee expenses
• Assisting with month-end duties, journals and reconciliations
• Maintaining accurate financial records using Sage
• Supporting the wider finance team with ad-hoc accounting and administrative tasks

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role
• Strong working knowledge of Sage
• Experience across both purchase and sales ledger functions
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills
• Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across the business
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
• A proactive and flexible approach to work
