As the firm continues to develop its tax offering, they are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to play a key role in shaping the future of the department


Your new role
As Tax Manager, you will join the firm and play a pivotal role in supporting and developing the tax function. This appointment has been created to provide additional support to the existing Tax Director. The role offers a broad mix of tax advisory and compliance responsibilities. You will work closely with an existing tax team of compliance specialists, providing technical guidance, leadership and support whilst helping to further develop the firm's advisory offering. Much of the advisory workload currently sits with the existing Tax Director, creating asignificant opportunity for the successful candidate to take ownership of client relationships and advisory projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and developing a portfolio of tax clients and delivering high-quality tax advisory projects across a range of areas
• Overseeing the firm's tax compliance function
• Supporting and mentoring members of the tax team
• Identifying opportunities to expand and strengthen the advisory offering
• Working closely with partners to contribute to the continued growth of the practice
• Acting as a trusted adviser to clients and building long-term relationships

What you'll need to succeed

The firm is looking for an experienced tax professional operating at assistant manager or manager level within practice.
You will ideally possess:

• Strong tax compliance and advisory experience
• The ability to manage and develop client relationships
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to business development
• CTA, ACA and/or ACCA qualifications, or equivalent experience

Whilst technical expertise is important, the partners place greater emphasis on personality, attitude and ambition. They believe that technical gaps can be developed overtime and are therefore keen to meet individuals who are collaborative, commercially minded and motivated to contribute to the long-term success of the business. Candidates from larger regional or national accountancy firms would be of particular interest.
