Academics is recruiting SEN Cover Supervisors to join our team across Sheffield's most dynamic specialist schools - and we want to hear from you.

Your mission:

• Lead the room - supervise whole classes and small groups during short-term teacher absence, delivering pre-set work and keeping pupils engaged and on task.
• Be their champion - support pupils 1:1 where needed, building confidence and core skills.
• Think on your feet - adapt lessons, resources, and approaches to fit each unique learner and the rhythm of the day.
• Turn behaviour into progress - use positive, tailored strategies that build self-esteem, engagement, and a safe, settled classroom.
• Collaborate like a pro - work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to follow plans, track progress, and shape EHCPs.
• Embrace every challenge - from sensory sensitivities to speech delays, you'll meet each child where they are and take them further.

Who you are:

• Qualified or experienced - Level 3 TA, HLTA, or equivalent experience supervising groups or classes in education, childcare, or health settings.
• SEN-savvy - you've supported children with additional needs and know how to adapt, connect, and inspire.
• Calm under pressure - patient, flexible, and solution-focused when things get tricky.
• Confident leading a room - able to step in, take charge, and keep learning on track.
• DBS-ready - Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or happy to get one fast.
• Reference-perfect - two strong professional references ready to go.

• £92.56-£110 per day (paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees, depending on experience) + holiday pay
