Gas Engineer / Plumber – Reactive Maintenance
£22 per hour (£880 per week at 40 hours worked) + Company Van | Monday–Friday
We are looking for an experienced Gas Engineer / Plumber to join our established business in Sheffield on a long-term, self-employed basis.
This role covers both gas and plumbing, with a strong focus on reactive maintenance. We are looking for someone with solid experience in new-build first and second fix plumbing, as well as reactive maintenance, who is confident working independently, diagnosing faults and completing a wide variety of jobs.
The Role
Jobs are sent directly to your phone throughout the day, and you'll attend customers' properties to diagnose and complete the required work.
The work is varied and can include:
Boiler repairs and fault finding
Boiler installations
Gas repairs and maintenance
Shower repairs and replacements
Tap repairs and replacements
Toilet and cistern repairs
Radiators and heating problems
Leak detection and repairs
Silicone repairs
Sanitaryware repairs and replacements
General domestic plumbing
Other plumbing and gas maintenance work
We also undertake new-build projects, including first and second fix plumbing. Experience working on new-build sites is essential, and the successful candidate must be willing to undertake this work when the reactive workload allows.
You'll need to be confident diagnosing faults and identifying the appropriate repairs, often with limited information initially available from the customer.
The role will suit someone who enjoys variety, solving problems and working independently.
Hours
Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, with a 30-minute unpaid dinner break (40 paid hours per week).
We organise the workload to provide a productive and realistic working day, and expect an experienced engineer to manage their jobs professionally and efficiently.
