Interim Finance Director (Transformation) | 12 Month FTC

Hybrid | 3 days per week in the office

Full-time | Fixed Term Contract (up to 12 months)

At Tes, we're transforming how finance supports the business. We're looking for an experienced Interim Finance Director to lead that transformation, develop our finance team and represent finance across significant systems and process change initiatives, including ERP, Salesforce, billing and pricing.

The opportunity

This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who enjoys building capability while delivering change. The finance function is evolving its systems, processes and operating model. You'll work closely with our Commercial Finance team to set direction, deliver early wins and create the foundations for long-term success.

Alongside leading finance transformation, you'll play a critical role in coaching and developing future finance leadership, ensuring the team has the confidence and capability to take greater ownership, influence and accountability across the business.

You'll also act as the finance lead for ERP and wider finance systems change, including Salesforce, billing and pricing initiatives.

Key responsibilities

Finance Transformation

• Assess current systems, processes and ways of working and develop a prioritised transformation roadmap.
• Drive improvements across close, forecasting, reporting, controls and automation.
• Lead change while maintaining effective day-to-day finance operations.

Team Development & Coaching

• Coach and develop a designated successor into a future senior finance leader.
• Build team capability in commercial partnering, challenge and use of new tools and processes.
• Support the transition to a budget-holder-led planning and forecasting model.
• Deliver a clear succession, development and handover plan.

ERP, Finance Systems & Salesforce Change

• Act as finance lead across ERP and finance systems transformation programmes.
• Define finance requirements covering controls, reporting, data quality and revenue recognition.
• Partner with IT, Sales Operations, Commercial teams and implementation partners.
• Own finance sign-off for testing, cutover and post-go-live stabilisation.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Provide senior finance leadership to the CEO, CFO and Executive Team.
• Report transformation progress, risks and key decisions to governance groups.
• Support effective collaboration across finance, commercial and data teams.

What we're looking for

Essential

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience operating as a Finance Director, Financial Controller or equivalent senior finance leader.
• Proven track record delivering finance transformation across systems, process and operating model.
• Experience leading finance requirements within ERP or finance systems implementations.
• Strong coaching and leadership skills with experience developing finance talent.
• Confident engaging and influencing C-suite and board-level stakeholders.
• Pragmatic, hands-on approach with a willingness to lead from the front.

Desirable

• Salesforce-to-ERP integration, CPQ or billing systems experience.
• Experience of subscription, usage-based or other complex pricing models.
• Previous interim leadership assignments.
• EdTech and/or B2B SaaS experience.
