Academics is a specialist education recruitment agency, hiring SEN Learning Support Assistant s for a variety of specialist education and training settings accross Sheffield.

We are looking for passionate practitioners with experience working with students with special educational needs and/or relevant qualifications.

The Role:

As an SEN Learning Support Assistant in Sheffield, you will work with pupils who have additional learning needs, providing support across a variety of educational settings.

You will collaborate with teachers and other professionals to support pupils' academic progress and social and emotional development, while promoting positive behaviour, building confidence and fostering independence

• Position: Learning Support Assistant
• Location: Sheffield
• Sector: Education and Training
• Daily Pay Rate: £92.56- £110 (depending on experience and school placement)
• Contract: Temporary, ongoing supply

Key Responsibilities

• Support the teacher in delivering lessons
• Adapt learning to meet EHCP targets
• Support pupils with a range of SEN including ASC, ADHD and SEMH
• Promote positive behaviour and independence
• Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and therapists
• Follow safeguarding procedures

Candidate Requirements

• A relevant Teaching Assistant Qualification (Cache LV 3 preferred)
• Previous SEN support experience or strong knowledge of specialist education
• Understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH, SLD, PMLD and additional learning needs
• Enhanced Child and Adult DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to commute to Education settings in Sheffield
