Private Client Solicitor / CILEX Lawyer | 3+ PQE | York

Looking for a Private Client role where you can take ownership of your caseload, build lasting client relationships and contribute to the wider team?

QED Legal's client is looking to speak with an experienced Private Client Solicitor or suitably qualified CILEX lawyer to join its team in York.

You'll manage a varied caseload covering wills, probate, estate administration, lasting powers of attorney, tax and trusts. The role combines hands-on technical work with direct client contact, giving you the opportunity to provide practical advice through important and often sensitive decisions.

Your responsibilities will include drafting and reviewing legal documents, investigating estate assets and liabilities, preparing probate applications and HMRC submissions, and ensuring matters progress efficiently. You'll also take ownership of client relationships, file management, time recording and billing, maintaining high standards of service and regulatory compliance throughout.

There's scope to contribute beyond your own caseload. You'll have the opportunity to guide junior colleagues and support staff on allocated matters, delegate work appropriately and contribute to the development of the wider practice. Building relationships with clients and professional referrers, supporting business development and identifying improvements to how matters are managed will also form part of the role.

The firm is looking for someone with at least three years' relevant post-qualification experience, strong technical knowledge across private client work and the confidence to manage matters independently. You'll need sound commercial judgement, a thoughtful approach to client care and the ability to balance quality advice with effective file management.
