HR Officer - #2188401

Elevation HR are working with a well-established engineering and manufacturing business who are looking to appoint a HR Officer for an initial 6 month fixed term contract, with a potential extension on a full-time basis in Sheffield.

Reporting directly to the Head of HR, you’ll work within a highly regulated and compliance-driven environment, providing essential HR administrative support while acting as the first point of contact for all HR and payroll-related queries.

As HR Officer, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing HR documentation, including salary increase letters, bonus scheme confirmations and holiday buy-and-sell scheme letters.
• Coordinating new starter onboarding, issuing contracts of employment and obtaining employment references.
• Ensuring employee inductions are completed and accurately recorded to meet audit and compliance requirements.
• Monitoring probation periods and following up with managers to ensure reviews are completed within the required timescales.
• Managing the offboarding process, ensuring all leaver documentation and procedures are completed.
• Providing administrative support during employee relations meetings, including attending and taking accurate notes.
• Maintaining accurate employee records and providing wider HR administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the function.

We’re looking for someone who is confident acting as a first point of contact for HR, comfortable dealing with a range of employee queries and able to use their own initiative. You’ll need to be proactive, approachable and confident working autonomously, knowing when to take ownership and when to seek further guidance.
