Who We Are

Founded in Sheffield in 2004, CHG Electrical has grown from an electrical engineering specialist into a multidisciplinary engineering partner delivering complex projects across water utilities, rail, steel and manufacturing.

Our expertise spans MEICA, EICAT, civil engineering, control panels, automation, software and digital transformation, supporting projects from design and installation through to commissioning and maintenance.

With over 20 years of experience, we remain committed to technical excellence, quality, safety and trusted long-term relationships.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you'll take responsibility for the successful day-to-day delivery of multiple civil engineering projects.

Working closely with Account Managers, Site Supervisors, Design Managers and Estimators, you'll coordinate technical delivery, resources, programmes, budgets and project risks while maintaining excellent HSE standards.

You'll also work directly with clients and commercial stakeholders, keeping everyone aligned, resolving issues proactively and ensuring projects meet specification, timescale and commercial objectives.

It's a varied role requiring someone who can see the bigger picture while staying close enough to the detail to keep projects moving.

Where You'll Make an Impact

Lead Successful Project Delivery

  • Manage multiple civil engineering projects, coordinating teams, subcontractors, resources and materials.
  • Monitor programmes, budgets, risks and variations to ensure successful delivery.
  • Ensure works meet technical specifications, quality standards and compliance requirements.

Technical & Commercial Management

  • Work with Design Managers to resolve technical issues and ensure buildability.
  • Review tenders and quotations with Estimators for accuracy and feasibility.
  • Maintain financial control, manage risks and report project performance to senior management.

Clients, Stakeholders & Safety

  • Build strong client and stakeholder relationships, attending progress meetings.
  • Maintain high HSE standards and ensure compliance with legislation and CDM requirements.
  • Communicate project progress, challenges and changes proactively.

About You

You'll bring proven experience delivering civil engineering projects within utilities or infrastructure and understand the practical, technical and commercial demands involved.

You'll be comfortable coordinating multiple projects and stakeholders, managing changing priorities and making confident decisions when challenges arise.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who takes ownership of delivery rather than simply reporting on it.

You'll Bring:

• Proven civil project delivery experience within utilities and/or infrastructure.

• Strong knowledge of civil engineering and construction methods.

• Experience managing complex programmes, budgets and resources.

• Confidence managing project teams, subcontractors and suppliers.

• Strong commercial awareness, including costs, variations and project risk.

• Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and CDM regulations.

• Strong client and stakeholder management capability.

• Excellent leadership, communication and practical problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency with project management and reporting tools.

• A collaborative and proactive approach.

• Full UK driving licence.

Why CHG Electrical?

You'll be joining a growing engineering organisation where you'll have genuine responsibility for delivery and the opportunity to influence how projects are run.

You'll work across varied utilities and infrastructure projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and continue developing your expertise as the business grows.

You'll Also Receive:

• Car allowance and fuel card.

• Performance-based bonus scheme.

• 25 days' annual leave plus 8 bank holidays.

• Flexible working arrangements.

• Ongoing training and development.

• Clear opportunities for career progression.
