As part of this programme of work our plant and equipment will be modernised over the next 10 years, creating new opportunities for the business and our colleagues.
Based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield, we are looking for a Trainee Bricklayer. This role will involve maintaining & repairing all refractory needs, prepare & re-lining ladles and the Electric Arc Furnace to achieve the melting plans.
Role Responsibilities
- Prepare ladles to meet production requirements.
- Casting of various lids / heat shields using refractory concrete, spraying of casting pits and tanks.
- Refurbishment of large ingot heads to production requirements.
- Re-lining and periodic repairs of the Electric Arc Furnace.
- Planning, organising and producing quality services.
About You
Full training will be provide however, the following skills, knowledge and experience are an advantage.
- Ability to read and understand bricking diagrams.
- Good initiative to complete tasks to meet production deadlines, with minimum supervision.
- Awareness of health & safety and working within safety procedures.
- Experience with refractory installation techniques.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to be flexible and use own initiative
Days/Hours of Work
40 hours per week: Monday to Friday 06:00 - 14:00.
