W Talent are proud to be recruiting for an exciting opportunity on behalf of a global engineering and manufacturing leader, seeking a Technical Export Sales Manager to join their high-performing commercial team based in the Sheffield area. This is a fantastic role for a commercially astute individual with a technical background, ideally in B2B sales of engineered or scientific products, who is passionate about international markets and building lasting client relationships.
About the Role
Reporting to the Sales Director, this role combines strategic sales planning with hands-on technical engagement to support global business development. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving international sales growth, offering technical expertise, and managing key relationships with global partners. This includes conducting feasibility testing, preparing technical documentation, and representing the company at international events. The position plays a critical role in aligning commercial goals with customer needs while also informing internal product development and identifying new market opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and implement sales strategies to drive international growth.
· Provide technical support and perform feasibility testing in the demo centre.
· Prepare detailed quotations, costings, and technical calculations.
· Act as the primary liaison for global sales partners and distributors.
· Manage export territories in line with sales targets and budget expectations.
· Lead customer seminars, technical meetings, and training workshops.
· Organise and attend international exhibitions and promotional events.
· Collaborate with internal teams to inform product development and explore new markets.
Key Requirements
We are looking for candidates with a degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline, along with strong organisational and project management skills. Ideal applicants will have experience in B2B technical sales, with export experience being highly desirable. Candidates should also have a proven ability to manage distributor networks and international customers, supported by excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in IT, as well as strong presentation and negotiation abilities, is essential. A willingness to travel internationally (approximately one week per month) and a full UK driving licence are required. Experience with laboratory or scientific equipment is preferred.
What's on Offer
The role offers a competitive salary between £55,000 and £60,000, depending on experience, with a relocation package available. You'll work a 37.5-hour week with flexible working options and benefit from a performance-related bonus scheme.
