A quick look at the role


The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and driving new business opportunities for the National Bulk Liquid offering within the Specialist Services division.


The role involves exploring potential markets with direct customers to collect and transport their waste liquid volumes by maximizing the utilization of our national road tanker fleet.


The successful candidate should possess strong commercial knowledge of the waste sector, with general experience in the Industrial & Commercial, Hazardous, Brokerage, or Waste Tanker sectors. This position offers an excellent opportunity to diversify and develop new skills in waste specialization. We will provide full training to help the post holder become the de facto commercial expert for the National Bulk Liquids business.


Your core responsibilities



  1. Exploring, identifying, and managing new business opportunities to grow the bulk liquids product.

  2. Proactively selling profitable new business aligned with operating areas of strength to achieve and surpass quarterly and annual sales targets.

  3. Developing and managing a detailed new business pipeline to forecast expected volumes and exceed sales revenue targets.

  4. Providing regular activity and pipeline reports to give visibility of current and forecasted new business activity to commercial and operational stakeholders.

  5. Collaborating closely with the General Manager of tankers to drive a growth strategy aligned with business needs.

  6. Maintaining accurate data within the CRM platform to support marketing campaigns.

  7. Liaising with other commercial functions to share pipelines and best practices.

  8. Working alongside waste professionals in a diverse environment built on transparency.


Our essential requirements



  • Experience in developing, managing, and implementing new business services successfully.

  • General knowledge of the waste sector.

  • Ability to collaborate with internal departments, potential customers, and other organizations.
