The Good Practice Mentor Programme is a funded project sharing learning and resources from the National Ageing Better programme to organisations across the UK. The programme aims to support others to work differently with their communities with the aim of reducing loneliness and social isolation, providing bespoke and collaborative support

SYHA is the lead provider for this innovative and dynamic collaboration and we have an opportunity for a Programme Co-ordinator to join the team and support the partners with the delivery of their diverse activities.

More about the role:

Ageing Better was a National programme that ran for 7 years to tackle loneliness and isolation in older adults living in the community. The Ageing Better programme brought together partners from 14 locations across the UK, encouraging the use of a Test and Learn approach to working and delivering services for and in collaboration with older adults.

Following the success of the Ageing Better programme, the GPM programme, now in its third year of delivery, shares learning and resource from 3 of the original delivery partners, continuing to provide a co-ordinated and collaborative response to social isolation and loneliness among older people. SYHA are the lead provider for this exciting partnership, and the Programme Co-ordinator will be responsible for overseeing and co-ordinating the partners and the key deliverables and outputs. The Programme Co-ordinator will be one of the lead contacts for the partners and will manage these relationships throughout the project, as well as supporting in the wider day to day running of the programme.

You will be working as part of a small team to oversee the national partners and manage the programme deliverables and outputs. You will monitor the activities of the partners and ensure that all outputs are captured for quarterly reporting to our funders.Who we want to join our team

  • An excellent communicator who enjoys working with lots of different people. You will reach out to partners for regular 2-way communication and ensure that everyone is kept in the loop
  • Committed to making a difference to the landscape of ageing in the community and the lives of older adults
  • An eye for numbers, data management and keeping track of figures and outputs – if you’re super organised then this is the role for you!
  • An efficient and capable multitasker- this role is varied and your tasks will change from day to day
  • Understand the importance of capturing the impact of the work we’re doing and showcasing the difference that’s making to people’s lives
  • Be pro-active in starting and prioritising tasks- this is a small team and you’ll need to work with a good level of independence
