Location: Covering the North and East of the UK (main sites at Merseyside, Nottingham and Sheffield)

What you’ll be doing:


This exciting and varied role will report to the Company Environment Manager and will actively support Veolia on all environmental matters by establishing relationships with key stakeholders to assure the right standards are in place, by undertaking regular specialised environmental assurance audits.


You will engage with operational teams and identify further improvements and provide solutions in this area, as well as work with the wider R&A team to support operations and where appropriate, support and liaise with external stakeholders, regulators and customers.


You will offer advice on environmental compliance with relevant legislation including but not limited to, waste duty of care, environmental permitting regulations and animal by-products.


You’ll be extremely people-facing - getting out and about with colleagues to keep a finger on the business pulse - sharing best practice and engaging our teams on environmental matters.


What we're looking for:


  • You will be qualified in an Environmental Certificate IEMA, with proven previous experience - preferably in the waste sector
  • Environmental degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience
  • Qualified ISO 14001 auditor is desired
  • Continuous improvement ability and experience e.g. simplification of processes with the ability to communicate complex explanations and concepts in an engaging manner to diverse audiences.
  • The ability to influence key stakeholders on site.
  • An individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide industry-leading customer service to all internal and external customers.
