The WHS Data team is hiring a Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE). The Data team spans the Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Engineering (DE) functional areas, responsible for providing all reporting solutions required by the WHS Organization to drive workplace safety and regulatory compliance worldwide. This BIE role will primarily support the data and reporting needs for the Business Unit (BU) BI team in the WHS Organization. The role requires close engagement with senior leaders and principal PMs to generate insights and deep dives into core metrics that impact organizational strategic decisions. It requires high proficiency in complex SQL scripting, often joining multiple data sets from diverse sources. The role demands ownership and autonomy to create high-quality products for customers, along with clear communication of project roadmaps, priorities, and release notes to stakeholders, including leadership.


Key job responsibilities

  1. Contribute to the design, implementation, and delivery of BI solutions for complex problems.

  2. Conduct deep dive analyses and formulate conclusions and recommendations for leadership.

  3. Identify opportunities and criteria to drive analytical reporting and business strategy.

  4. Produce recommendations and insights to shape metric development and reporting.

  5. Simplify and automate reporting, audits, and data activities.

  6. Partner with Data Engineering to improve data infrastructure and access.

  7. Develop best practices in data integrity, analysis, validation, and documentation.

  8. Learn new technologies to support product and process innovation.


Minimum qualifications include:



  • 3+ years of experience analyzing data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.

  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Quicksight.

  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and ETL pipelines.

  • Knowledge of statistical analysis packages such as R, SAS, or Matlab.

  • Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages like Python.

  • Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or related fields.


Preferred qualifications include:



  • 5+ years of data analysis experience with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.

  • Experience with AWS solutions like EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift.

  • Experience in data mining, ETL, and working with large datasets.

  • Master's degree in relevant fields.
