Oyster

The city hums with quiet energy, and across 6 state-of-the-art student properties—home to over 2,300 students from around the world—another vibrant night is just beginning.

As Night Manager, you’ll be the steady hand in the dark—the go-to leader making sure our student communities stay safe, supported, and well cared for through the night. You’ll work across a diverse and exciting estate of 6buildings, becoming a familiar face and trusted presence for thousands of students building their future far from home.

But this isn’t just a security role. It’s a people-first position at the heart of a dynamic student experience. Whether it’s helping a nervous fresher at 2am, responding to an emergency maintenance call, or calmly coordinating support during an incident, you’ll be making a real impact—night after night.

You’ll be joining a forward-thinking student accommodation provider that’s redefining what university living looks and feels like. With tens of thousands of beds across the UK and a strong presence in Sheffield, they’re professional, ambitious, and always evolving. They don’t just maintain buildings—they nurture communities!

Your Responsibilities:

  • Leading overnight operations across six buildings with confidence and care.

  • Supporting student welfare, including escalating wellbeing and safety concerns when needed.

  • Coordinating on-site incidents, liaising with emergency services, contractors, and internal teams.

  • Carrying out regular building checks to make sure everything is safe, secure, and spotless.

  • Leading by example—training new team members, ensuring compliance, and delivering exceptional service.

Your Requirements:

  • A calm, decisive leader who can manage incidents and support young people under pressure.

  • Experience in security, facilities, hospitality, or student accommodation (even better if you’ve led a team).

  • Someone proactive, tech-comfortable (you’ll use iPads and apps to log incidents and reports), and emotionally intelligent.

  • Someone happy to work 4 nights on, 4 nights off, 7pm to 7am.
