We are seeking a compassionate and experienced midwife with a passion for perinatal mental health to join our maternity team as a Band 7 Maternity Mental Health Specialist Midwife. This is a pivotal role supporting women with moderate to severe mental health needs throughout pregnancy and the postnatal period.

You will work closely with women, their families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure personalised, safe, and effective care. Your expertise will help shape service development, staff training, and the implementation of evidence-based care pathways at Jessop Wing and across South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw.

You will be part of a forward-thinking, supportive team committed to delivering high-quality, holistic maternity care. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of women and families, while contributing to the development of a vital area of service.

Act as a visible point of contact for women with mental health needs during maternity care.

Provide specialist support, advice, and advocacy for women and their families.

Collaborate with midwives, obstetricians, GPs, health visitors, and mental health services to develop and implement individualised care plans.

Lead on the development and review of perinatal mental health pathways, policies, and training.

Deliver education and training to maternity and multi-agency staff on maternal mental health.

Participate in service development, audit, and research to improve outcomes for women with mental health conditions.

Attend multi-agency meetings and contribute to safeguarding and care planning processes.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of perinatal mental health, including relevant legislation, medication, and local services.
