Here at JELD-WEN UK, a global organisation that produces and manufactures Doors and Doorsets, we’re looking for a Plant Manager to be based in Sheffield, UK.

Reporting to the Operations Director for the UK you will be responsible for all aspects of production activity in Sheffield to ensure that the desired quantities and quality of products are manufactured on schedule, in a safe manner and at minimum cost.

What you'll need to succeed:
- Previous Plant leadership experience working in a medium to large size Manufacturing, Production or Engineering environment.
- Previous experience of a ‘Safety First’ culture, with a zero tolerance and continuous safety improvement mentality.
- Experience of mentoring and promoting improvement through Lean techniques such as value stream mapping, 5s, standard work cellular flow, mistake proofing, total productive maintenance.
- Experience and knowledge of interpreting and applying understanding of key financial indicators to make better business decisions.
- Previous experience of ‘Quality’ management systems.
- Previous experience of leading a team is essential.
- Experience working within a disciplined and system-controlled environment.
- Experience of working with a SQDCIP (or equivalent) production management system is required.
- Previous experience of working in a Trade Union environment is desirable.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio required.
- Understanding of multiple manufacturing ERP systems including SAP advantageous.
