This is a full-time, on-site Solar Installer - Roofer role with Watt Solar Solution Limited. The role will be expected to travel to project sites nationwide.

The Solar Roofing Engineer will support the roof-based installation of solar PV systems on residential and commercial properties. This is primarily a roofing and mounting role, not an electrical position.

The successful candidate will be responsible for working safely at height, installing solar PV mounting systems, positioning panels, preparing roof areas where required, and supporting the wider installation team to deliver projects safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities include:

• Carrying out roof-based solar PV installation works on residential and commercial properties
• Installing mounting systems, roof hooks, rails, brackets and solar panels
• Working safely and confidently at height in line with site-specific requirements
• Supporting accurate panel positioning and layout in accordance with installation plans
• Using hand tools and power tools safely and professionally
• Protecting customer property and maintaining clean, organised working areas
• Working closely with electricians, senior installers and other site colleagues
• Following health and safety procedures at all times
• Identifying and reporting any roof, access or safety concerns
• Supporting efficient project delivery while maintaining quality standards
• Representing Watt Solar Solution Limited professionally on site

The role is suited to someone who is in the early stages of their solar career and already has some practical solar experience, particularly on the roofing or panel installation side. Roofing experience, site experience or a strong background working safely at height would also be highly valuable.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Some practical experience in solar PV installation, solar roofing, roofing, construction or a related trade
• Confidence and competence working at height
• A strong understanding of safe working practices on roofs
• Experience using hand tools and power tools
• Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• The ability to follow installation plans and site instructions
• A reliable, professional and accountable approach to work
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
• A respectful and professional manner when working on customer sites
• Willingness to learn and develop within the renewable energy sector
• Flexibility to travel to sites, predominantly across Yorkshire

The following would be advantageous, although training can be provided for the right candidate:

• Working at Heights certification
• Manual Handling training
• CSCS card
• PASMA or IPAF
• Roofing qualifications or demonstrable roofing experience
• Solar PV installation experience
• Health and safety training
• Full UK driving licence
