The Role
We’re looking for a Validation & Testing Manager to lead a high-performing Validation R&D team, ensuring all testing and product validation activities are delivered on time and to a high standard.
This is a leadership role combining hands-on technical oversight with strong people management, ensuring that products are fully validated and reliable before release.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Validation R&D Team, overseeing day-to-day testing and validation activities
- Ensure all validation work is delivered on time and in line with agreed test plans
- Act as a quality gatekeeper, ensuring no faulty or buggy products leave validation without being fully resolved
- Support the Head of R&D with resource planning and workload management
- Manage team performance including KPIs, development, training, and progression
- Oversee team administration including holidays, recruitment, and general management duties
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the validation team
- Drive continuous improvement across testing processes and validation standards
Essential Experience
- Proven experience in a Validation, Testing, or QA leadership role
- Strong people management experience (team leadership, development, performance management)
- Experience managing test plans, validation processes, and delivery timelines
- Ability to identify and resolve product faults/bugs before release
- Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with R&D leadership
Desirable Experience
- Background in R&D or product development environments
- Experience supporting resource planning and scaling teams
- Exposure to electronics, embedded systems, or engineering-led products (if relevant to client)
