Steel Distributer - #2140684

We are currently recruiting for a Steel Distributer to join an established structural steelwork business based in Wombwell, South Yorkshire.

This is a hands-on position within a busy manufacturing environment, responsible for the safe handling, stacking and distribution of steel sections and associated materials throughout the factory.

The role would suit someone with previous experience working with Overhead Cranes who is comfortable handling heavy materials and working in a fast-paced industrial environment.

You will be responsible for:

• Operating overhead cranes to move steel sections and packages around the factory.
• Stacking steel from the saws into organised packages.
• Distributing steel packages throughout the manufacturing facility.
• Organising plates, fittings and other materials.
• Selecting and arranging products for internal and external orders.
• Ensuring materials are correctly identified and positioned.
• Carrying out manual handling duties safely.
• Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety at all times.
• Working closely with the wider production team to ensure materials are available when required.

Previous Overhead Crane experience is essential.

Ideally, you will also have:

• Experience within a steel, fabrication, manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
• Experience handling heavy steel or similar materials.
• Good awareness of Health & Safety requirements.
• Strong attention to detail.
• A reliable and hardworking approach.
• The ability to work as part of a busy production team.
• Relevant Overhead Crane certification would be advantageous.
