Lead the Future of Welding Training

Momentum Recruitment & Training is looking for an experienced Lead Welding Tutor & IQA to help shape and maintain the highest standards of welding delivery across our growing network of training centres.

Based in Sheffield, you'll lead on quality, standardisation and Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) while delivering practical welding training and supporting tutors across multiple locations. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced welding professional who enjoys developing people, maintaining quality standards and helping learners secure careers within engineering and manufacturing.

About the Role

You'll combine hands-on workshop delivery with leadership responsibilities, ensuring our welding programmes consistently meet awarding body requirements and employer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 welding programmes, including practical workshop sessions.

  • Teach MIG, TIG and fabrication skills alongside industry best practice.

  • Lead Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) across welding provision.

  • Carry out observations, sampling and standardisation activities.

  • Support, coach and develop Welding Tutors across multiple centres.

  • Maintain awarding body compliance and quality assurance standards.

  • Ensure learner records, assessments and evidence are accurate and compliant.

  • Work closely with delivery managers to continuously improve learner outcomes.

  • Support curriculum development to meet employer and industry needs.

  • Travel to Momentum's other training centres when required.

What We're Looking For

  • Significant occupational experience within welding and fabrication.

  • A recognised Level 3 Welding qualification or equivalent industry experience.

  • A recognised IQA qualification (or significant experience undertaking IQA responsibilities).

  • Experience delivering practical welding training.

  • Strong knowledge of awarding body requirements and quality assurance processes.

  • Excellent leadership, coaching and communication skills.

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Mandatory Centre Staffing Requirements

Staff delivering these qualifications must be able to demonstrate that they:

  • Are technically competent in the areas they are delivering.

  • Can deliver across the full breadth and depth of the qualification content being taught.

  • Have recent relevant teaching and assessment experience in the specific area they will be delivering, or be actively working towards this.

  • Demonstrate ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
