Tradewind Recruitment
SEND Teaching Assistant | Sheffield | Primary Schools | Flexible Part-Time & Full-Time Opportunities
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional needs? Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants for a variety of primary schools across Sheffield.
We work with schools across the city, giving you the opportunity to find work that suits your experience, availability and preferred setting. Whether you're looking for a few days a week or a full-time role, we can offer flexible opportunities throughout the school year.
What will you be doing?
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you could be supporting individual pupils, small groups or working alongside the wider classroom team. The children you support may have a range of additional needs, including:
- Autism and communication difficulties
- ADHD
- SEMH
- Moderate learning difficulties
- Challenging or complex behaviour
- Additional learning and developmental needs
You'll play an important role in helping pupils engage with their learning, develop independence and feel settled and supported within school.
Who are we looking for?
We're particularly interested in hearing from Teaching Assistants who have previous experience supporting children with SEND.
This could have been gained in:
- Mainstream primary schools
- Specialist SEND schools
- Alternative education settings
- One-to-one or small-group support roles
You don't necessarily need a formal SEND qualification if you have strong practical experience. A Team Teach qualification or similar behaviour management/de-escalation training would be a significant advantage, particularly for pupils who require additional behavioural support.
Most importantly, we're looking for people who are patient, resilient and confident building positive relationships with children.
