Hays Accountancy & Finance are proud to be supporting a well-established organisation based in Sheffield as they look to recruit a Financial / Statutory Accountant on a temporary-to-permanent basis. Your new role

Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting while supporting statutory and compliance requirements.
Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing monthly financial accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assisting with statutory accounts preparation and audit requirements
• Supporting year-end and month-end processes
• Maintaining fixed asset registers and associated reporting
• Managing VAT returns and other regulatory submissions
• Ensuring compliance with financial controls and accounting standards
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
• Liaising with external auditors and internal stakeholders across the business
• Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting

What you'll need to succeed

• Qualified by experience, part-qualified or fully qualified (AAT, ACCA, ACA or CIMA)
• Previous experience within a financial accounting, statutory accounting or reporting role
• Strong technical accounting knowledge
• Experience supporting audits and statutory reporting processes
• Excellent Excel and systems skills
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work to deadlines
