Elevation Recruitment Group's Skilled Shop Floor Team are working with a well-established precision engineering business supplying the medical and aerospace sectors to recruit an experienced Steel Dressing Operative .

Job Title: Steel Dressing Operative

Location: Sheffield
Salary: £31,200 – £32,300 (including shift allowance)
Shift Pattern: Rotating Days & Afternoons

Monday – Thursday

• Mornings: 6:00am – 2:00pm
• Afternoons: 2:00pm – 10:00pm

Friday (Early Finish)

• Mornings: 6:00am – 12:00pm
• Afternoons: 12:00pm – 6:00pm

Key Responsibilities of a Steel Dressing Operative:

• Finishing precision-engineered metal components to customer specifications
• Deburring, polishing, linishing, grinding and dressing components to achieve the required finish
• Using a range of hand and power tools, including linishing and grinding equipment
• Carrying out visual and dimensional inspections using measuring equipment
• Working from engineering drawings and production instructions
• Ensuring components meet strict quality standards before progressing through production
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and adhering to Health & Safety procedures
• Supporting other production departments when required

Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience as a Metal Finisher, Deburrer, Linisher, Grinder or Finishing Operative
• Experience within precision engineering, aerospace, medical or another high-specification manufacturing environment would be advantageous
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Experience using hand and power tools for metal finishing
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings is desirable
• A proactive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
