Project Commissioning Engineer

Are you a hands on Project Commissioning Engineer ready to take ownership of technically challenging projects from concept to completion? We are partnering with an established engineering business that delivers process and packaging solutions across the food, dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical and personal care sectors.

You will combine practical engineering expertise, commercial awareness and project leadership to deliver safe, profitable and technically robust solutions. Working closely with customers, suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams, you will remain actively involved throughout design, installation, commissioning and handover.

• Engineer and support process and packaging projects from quotation through to successful delivery.
• Manage project budgets, programmes, specifications, variations and profitability.
• Plan and procure labour and materials, schedule resources and supervise internal and external teams.
• Install, commission, service and fault-find project-related equipment, including electrical activities.
• Translate technical, commercial and programme information into clear updates for customers and stakeholders.
• Build effective relationships with customers, suppliers and subcontractors while maintaining high service standards.
• Ensure every project complies with CDM, health and safety and other relevant regulations.
• Support business growth by preparing quotations and identifying additional revenue opportunities.
• Strong knowledge of hygienic process and packaging environments, ideally within the food, dairy or beverage industries.
• Experience with capital plant and equipment such as tanks, valves, pumps, pipework, heat exchangers, CIP systems, fillers, conveyors or mixing equipment.
• A proven ability to design, install, commission, fault-find and repair plant equipment.
• Sound working knowledge of health and safety and CDM requirements.
• Project management capability, commercial awareness and experience monitoring costs and profitability.
• Experience using AutoCAD or similar drawing software, together with strong general IT and spreadsheet skills.
• Clear communication, effective prioritisation and the confidence to work independently or lead others.
• A mechanical engineering apprenticeship or engineering-based degree.
• Appropriate electrical qualifications that meet current legislation.
• A full driving licence.
