Networks & Communications Specialist - #2155692

We’re looking for a Networks & Communications Specialist to join an established organisation’s IT team.

This is a hands-on, mid-level networking role where you’ll take ownership of day-to-day networking support, troubleshoot technical issues and get involved in infrastructure projects and improvements.

• Provide 3rd line support across LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, routing and firewalls
• Troubleshoot complex networking and connectivity issues
• Support VoIP and unified communications
• Work with suppliers and third-party technology partners
• Support network upgrades, changes and infrastructure projects
• Maintain technical documentation and standards
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability, automation and efficiency
• Work closely with wider Infrastructure and IT teams

• Solid hands-on experience supporting enterprise networks
• Good knowledge of LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, routing and firewalls
• Cisco networking / CLI experience
• Experience with VoIP or unified communications
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of IT service management and change processes
• Able to work independently and take ownership
• Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude

CCNA is desirable but not essential – equivalent practical experience will be considered.

Experience with Cisco Webex Calling, Microsoft 365, Azure or wider infrastructure would also be beneficial.

• £35,000–£45,000
• Hybrid working – minimum 2 days per week in Sheffield
• Technical development and training opportunities

• Occasional UK travel to sites and suppliers

You’ll need a full UK driving licence and access to a car.
