Interim Finance Transformation & Controls Lead

Contract: Fixed-term or interim contract, 6–12 months

Reporting to: Group Financial Controller

Lead a major finance transformation programme

We are looking for an experienced Interim Finance Transformation & Controls Lead to take a central role in strengthening our financial control environment and delivering a significant programme of finance transformation.

Working closely with the Group Financial Controller, finance colleagues, operational stakeholders and an external SOX consultant, you will lead the implementation of SOX-aligned controls, document end-to-end finance processes and identify practical opportunities to improve efficiency and automation.

You will also act as the finance lead for the Group’s Sage X3 implementation, coordinating key finance workstreams including requirements gathering, data migration and user acceptance testing.

This is a hands-on assignment for a qualified finance professional who can quickly understand complex processes, identify control weaknesses and translate requirements into clear, workable solutions.

Key responsibilities

As Interim Finance Transformation & Controls Lead, you will:

  • Work alongside the SOX consultant to design and implement SOX-aligned financial controls.
  • Review and document end-to-end finance processes across the Group.
  • Identify control gaps and develop clear remediation actions.
  • Drive process improvement, standardisation and automation opportunities.
  • Lead the finance workstreams supporting the implementation of Sage X3.
  • Coordinate finance requirements, data migration and user acceptance testing.
  • Develop and embed finance policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
  • Build effective relationships across finance and operations.
  • Keep stakeholders informed of progress, risks, dependencies and required decisions.

What success will look like

Success in this assignment will be measured through:

  • Effective implementation of the required financial controls.
  • Clear and comprehensive process documentation.
  • Identifiable efficiency improvements and savings.
  • Successful delivery of the finance elements of Sage X3.
  • Improved governance and audit readiness across the Group.

About you

You will be a confident finance transformation professional with strong technical knowledge and the ability to turn complex requirements into practical actions.

You will bring:

  • A recognised accountancy qualification, such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
  • Strong financial controls experience.
  • Experience supporting or delivering ERP implementations.
  • Demonstrable process improvement expertise.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • The ability to work across finance and operational teams.
  • A pragmatic, hands-on and delivery-focused approach.

The opportunity

This is a high-impact interim assignment offering the opportunity to shape the Group’s future finance operating environment. You will have visible ownership of critical controls, processes and systems workstreams, with the scope to deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, governance and audit readiness.

If you are an experienced finance transformation professional with a strong controls background and hands-on ERP implementation experience, we would like to hear from you.
