Salary: Up to £28,000, dependent on experience

SJC Partners is working with a well-established and highly regarded law firm that is looking to recruit a Conveyancing Assistant for its Sheffield office.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with residential conveyancing experience who is keen to develop their knowledge, take on greater responsibility and build a long-term career within property law.

You will join a supportive and collaborative Residential Property team, assisting an experienced Conveyancer with a varied caseload of sales, purchases and other residential property transactions.

What will you be doing?

• Supporting a Conveyancer with residential property matters from instruction through to completion
• Opening files and completing initial client onboarding checks
• Communicating with clients, solicitors, estate agents and other third parties
• Preparing contract packs and reviewing title and property documentation
• Ordering searches and carrying out relevant property research
• Preparing and submitting SDLT returns
• Preparing and submitting applications to HM Land Registry
• Maintaining accurate file records, accounts and case-management information
• Responding to client enquiries by telephone and email
• Assisting with exchanges, completions and post-completion work
• Providing general administrative support to the wider Residential Property team

What are we looking for?

• Previous experience within residential conveyancing, ideally supporting a fee earner or Conveyancer
• A genuine interest in developing a long-term career within property law
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A professional and client-focused approach
• Good attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and legal case-management systems
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
