This role offers the chance to work across multiple industrial sectors, supporting the design, development, installation and commissioning of bespoke automation solutions.

If you’re organised, commercially aware and confident managing complex engineering projects, this is an excellent opportunity to step into a role with variety, autonomy and long-term progression.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will lead multiple automation projects from concept through to commissioning and final handover. You’ll work closely with clients, control systems engineers, software developers, electrical teams and commissioning specialists to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of PLC, SCADA and industrial automation projects
  • Develop project plans, schedules, budgets and resource requirements
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients throughout delivery
  • Monitor progress, ensuring milestones and deliverables are achieved
  • Manage project costs, forecasting and financial reporting
  • Identify risks and implement corrective actions
  • Support design, software development, panel build, installation and commissioning
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, specifications and H&S requirements
  • Lead FAT/SAT activities and ensure successful client handover

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in control systems, automation or systems integration
  • Strong understanding of PLC and SCADA technologies
  • Experience managing engineering projects from concept to commissioning
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Customer-focused approach with strong relationship-building skills
  • Understanding of risk management, change control and quality assurance
  • Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience
