The Opportunity:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Operations Manager to join a growing organisation operating within the Renewables, Energy and Utilities sector.

Based from the company's Sheffield office with nationwide travel, this is a key role responsible for leading, coordinating and implementing projects across both the front-end and back-end of renewable energy operations. You will oversee projects from initial planning, development and commercial scoping through to technical delivery, implementation and operational handover.

We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of project delivery within renewables, capable of bringing together commercial, technical and operational teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, on time and within budget.

This is an opportunity for a hands-on project professional who can take ownership, drive implementation, manage multiple stakeholders and ensure projects move successfully from concept through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning, coordination and implementation of projects across front-end development and back-end operational delivery within the renewables sector.
• Manage projects from initial concept, feasibility and commercial scoping through to implementation, delivery and final handover.
• Coordinate internal teams, external contractors, suppliers and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered against agreed timelines, budgets and objectives.
• Develop project plans, delivery schedules, milestones and resource requirements.
• Oversee project progress, identifying risks, challenges and dependencies and implementing solutions to keep projects on track.
• Work closely with commercial and technical teams to ensure project requirements are clearly defined and achievable.
• Drive the implementation of new processes, systems and operational improvements to support business growth and project delivery.
• Ensure effective communication between front-end project development, technical delivery and back-end operational teams.
• Monitor project budgets, costs, performance metrics and KPIs, providing regular updates to senior leadership.
• Manage project documentation, reporting, compliance requirements and quality standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve project efficiency, delivery methods and overall operational performance.
• Support the development and implementation of scalable project management processes as the business continues to grow.
• Ensure projects are delivered in line with relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements and health and safety obligations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, contractors and key business stakeholders.

About You:

We are looking for a commercially aware and delivery-focused project professional with a proven ability to lead projects from initial planning through to successful implementation.

You will understand the complexities of renewable energy projects and be comfortable working across both the front-end development and back-end delivery processes, bringing people, systems and operational requirements together to achieve results.

You Will Ideally Have:

• Proven experience in a Operations Manager, Project Manager, Programme Manager or similar project delivery role.
• Experience leading and implementing projects across both front-end development and back-end operational delivery.
• A background within renewables, energy, utilities, engineering, infrastructure or a related technical sector.
• Demonstrable experience managing projects from initial scoping and planning through to implementation, delivery and handover.
• Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, risk management and performance monitoring.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, contractors, suppliers and external stakeholders.
• The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
• Strong commercial awareness, with an understanding of project costs, profitability, timelines and business objectives.
• Experience developing and improving project processes, systems and operational procedures.
• Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with the ability to take ownership and drive projects forward.
• The confidence to work closely with senior leadership while remaining hands-on with project delivery.
