The opportunity

We’re recruiting on an exclusive basis for a Building Manager to run one a Grade A office building in Sheffield. This c.78,000 sq ft asset sits in the heart of the city centre, and it has recently had a major investment and refurbishment programme. It is BREEAM Excellent and further green upgrades under way. The building is multi-let to a diverse occupier base, so this is a high-profile role with real ownership of the asset.

The role

• Take day-to-day operational responsibility for the building, in line with health and safety, environmental and company standards.
• Prepare, control and monitor annual service charge budget
• Lead on health and safety compliance: audits, evacuations, emergency plans, risk and insurance compliance, and an annual crisis management review.
• Oversee the planned maintenance programme, and manage contractors and service providers to the agreed standard.
• Look after the on-site amenities, including showers, cycle storage, security and a staffed reception.
• Build strong relationships with occupiers and attend tenant meetings.
• Line manage and develop the on-site team, including appraisals and objective setting.
• Support procurement and contract compilation, and maintain site records such as the asset register and plant testing.

About you

• Proven experience managing a commercial property or a portfolio, including line management and service agreements.
• Strong technical knowledge of premises management.
• Good working knowledge of health and safety legislation and environmental requirements.
• IOSH qualified. IWFM is desirable.
• Comfortable with industry FM and property IT systems.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
