Elevation Recruitment Group are recruiting for a Commercial Estimator to join an established flooring business based in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded individual to join a business specialising in flooring solutions, playing a key role in pricing projects, preparing accurate quotations and supporting the wider commercial team in securing new business.

As Commercial Estimator, you will be responsible for reviewing project requirements, interpreting drawings and specifications, calculating costs and preparing competitive tenders across a range of flooring projects. You will work closely with internal teams, suppliers and customers to ensure quotations are accurate, commercially viable and submitted within agreed deadlines.

As the Commercial Estimator, you will:

• Prepare detailed and competitive cost estimates for flooring projects, including materials, labour, installation and associated costs.
• Review technical drawings, specifications, tender documents and bills of quantities to establish project requirements.
• Obtain and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure accurate and cost-effective pricing.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal departments to clarify project requirements and resolve any pricing queries.
• Identify commercial risks, assess project profitability and ensure appropriate margins are maintained.
• Prepare and submit quotations and tender documentation within required timescales.
• Support the commercial and sales teams with pricing strategies and new business opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, costs and tender submissions.

To be considered for the Commercial Estimator role, you will need:

• Previous experience in a commercial estimating role, ideally within the flooring, construction or building products sector.
• Strong numerical skills with the ability to calculate costs accurately and identify opportunities to maintain profitability.
• The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple quotations and deadlines.
• Confident communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
• A commercially focused approach, with an understanding of project costs, margins and tendering processes.
• Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Excel and estimating or costing systems.
