The Role

Are you a confident, relationship-focused professional with a passion for connecting individuals with meaningful employment? We are looking for an Employer Engagement Consultant to join our team, working directly with individuals who have offending histories to help them access sustainable job opportunities and rebuild their lives.

In this role, you'll focus on building strong relationships with employers across the region, identifying job vacancies and promoting a high-quality, tailored recruitment service. You will play a key part in helping people overcome complex barriers to employment, while supporting businesses in meeting their workforce needs.

This is not a traditional sales role it requires a mix of commercial awareness, empathy, and resilience. Youll be liaising with both employers and internal support teams to ensure the best outcomes for all parties.

Duties

  • Build and maintain employer relationships through meetings, calls, and networking events to understand recruitment needs and generate job opportunities.
  • Conduct employer outreach via digital, telephone, and face-to-face channels to source new vacancies and promote services.
  • Account manage employer relationships to ensure consistent, high-quality service and encourage repeat business.
  • Promote vacancies internally and externally, ensuring clear and accurate job information is shared with operational teams and support staff.
  • Pre-screen candidates for suitability, arrange interviews, and manage employer feedback.
  • Liaise with internal teams and training providers to coordinate tailored pre-employment support where needed.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant records across internal systems, adhering to data protection and organisational procedures.

Required Skills:

  • A confident communicator with the ability to build rapport quickly and maintain positive relationships.
  • Highly organised with good attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple employer accounts effectively.
  • Flexible in your approach, with a willingness to travel and occasionally work outside standard hours.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with offending histories and a commitment to inclusive recruitment practices.
  • Previous experience in sales or recruitment, ideally with experience securing job vacancies and supporting candidates into work.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence employer decisions.
  • Knowledge of the local labour market, recruitment trends, and growth industries.
  • Excellent stakeholder management with the ability to identify opportunities and close vacancies.
  • Recent experience of working to challenging targets within a sales or business development environment.
  • Proficient IT skills including use of management information systems, spreadsheets, and email.
