We are seeking a school business manager to join the senior leadership team of this education setting in Sheffield and support the headteacher and governors in ensuring the smooth and successful running of our school. You will be responsible for the strategic planning and all areas such as human resources, facilities, administration, health and safety and site management.
Your new role
You will have a relevant qualification in business management or equivalent experience in a similar role. You will also have excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills. You will have the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including staff, parents, pupils, governors, and external agencies.
- Liaise with the finance team to ensure the budget set reflects the plans and operational needs of the setting.
- Be responsible for the management of administration, data, estate management, health and safety, catering, operations support, human resources and ICT.
- Manage and develop the school's support staff.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Lead on procurement, contracts, and asset management
- Plan and manage the recruitment processes within the school.
- Maintain the single central record inline with the HR policies.
- With the support of the site team manage the premises and grounds, including site safety, security and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
- Ensure the ICT systems function effectively to enhance and support the teaching and learning of the school.
- Promote the school's profile and reputation in the community.
What you'll need to succeed
- Ideally, experience of working in a school environment.
- Experience of contributing at a strategic level within the senior management/leadership team of an organisation
- Knowledge and experience of managing risk assessments and health and safety legislation.
- Experience of leading, managing, and motivating staff.
- Ability to lead and manage change.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage competing deadlines.
- Flexibility and willingness to be adaptable.
